
ROBERTO PERLI is Senior Managing Director and analyst on ISI’s Policy Research Team in Washington DC. ISI’s Washington Team has been ranked by Institutional Investor in each of the past 14 years, and the team has been ranked #1 for the past 10 years. Roberto focuses on monetary and fiscal policy issues in the US and Europe and their impact on financial markets. He has appeared on numerous US and international TV and radio programs, has been quoted in most major newswires and printed media, and has been a guest speaker at a number of investor conferences.
Prior to joining ISI in 2010, Roberto spent 8 years in the Division of Monetary Affairs at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the last 4 of which as an officer and senior staff member. In that capacity, he assisted the Board and the FOMC in the formulation of monetary policy, drafted FOMC statements, wrote speeches and testimonies for Chairman Bernanke and other Governors, and lead one of the Board groups that designed and implemented the Federal Reserve's response to the financial crisis. Before joining the Fed, Roberto built credit risk models at Capital One for 2 years. He started his career as an assistant professor of economics at the University of Pennsylvania and subsequently taught MBA classes at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business.
Roberto graduated from the University of Venice, Italy in 1990 with majors in Economics and Mathematics and received his PhD in Economics from New York University in 1995.
